SURREY (NEWS1130) – She’s perceived as a front-runner in the race to replace Gordon Campbell in the premier’s chair. But another voice is saying Surrey’s mayor will not be going for the job.
CityCaucus.com political blogger Michael Klassen predicts Dianne Watts will say no. “I think that Dianne Watts has really set out a path for herself on reforming Surrey. Surrey is the project that she’s really sunk her teeth into and you can tell that she’s having some success.”
Klassen doesn’t think Watts will able to accomplish all that she wants to in Surrey if she leaves the mayor’s chair now, and that’s incentive to stay put.
Councillor Marvin Hunt has also told reporters he doubts Watts will run to be the leader of the BC Liberals.
