UWO signs tentative agreement with admin., technical staff

WATERLOO, Ont. – The University of Western Ontario has achieved labour peace with a third group of employees.

The school and the Ontario Staff Association representing more than 1,000 administrative and technical workers came to terms Friday at about 3 a.m.

The agreement was reached after more than 18 hours of negotiations with the help of a provincial conciliator.

The two sides have been meeting since May 28 to replace a contract that expired on June 30.

Details of the agreement won’t be released until after ratification votes.

The university settled earlier this week with its 1,400 professors after coming to terms with its 1,900 graduate teaching assistants.
