Regent Park shooting not captured on security cameras: Reports

TORONTO, Ont. – Police are asking for help with an investigation into a double murder in Regent Park Saturday morning, as new reports state security cameras in the lobby did not capture the suspects.

The shooting happened around 2 a.m. at 605 Whiteside Place, an apartment building near Dundas and River Street.

Police arrived to find one man lying in a pool of blood in the lobby, while the other was found shot on the sixth floor.

One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

They have been identified as Jermaine Derby, 19, and Sealand White, 15, of Toronto.

According to The Globe and Mail, security cameras in the lobby were not working at the time of the shooting, so police have not been able to look at any of the suspects.

Detectives spoke with a number of witnesses following the shooting.
