Durham Region’s Project Mosquito stings pot growers

A six-week drug investigation by Durham Regional Police has netted $14.5-million worth of marijuana and 22 arrests.
During the “Project Mosquito” campaign, police uncovered 49 grow-ops hidden in cornfields and gardens from Beaverton to Kitchener.
Another five grow-ops were found in homes around the GTA.
Nearly 12,000 pot plants were recovered and 69 charges were laid.
Police also seized two vehicles and a gun.
