TORONTO, Ont. – York Regional Police continue to hunt for three suspects after a robbery at a Bank of Montreal branch.
It happened just before 11 a.m. Monday on Carlton Road in the Warden and 16th avenues area.
Police told 680News two of the suspects were armed, one with a sawed off shotgun, another with a handgun.
A witness outside the bank saw the armed men inside and called 911.
By the time police arrived the suspects had fled out the back door, carrying a quantity of cash, as well as cell phones and wallets from the customers.
Police have been fanning out across the area in search of the suspects.
A nearby public school, William Berczy Public School, was in lockdown as a precaution.
Police said shots were not fired and no one was seriously hurt. However, one customer sustained a minor injury as a result of being pushed.
