Man killed in head-on collision in Caledon

CALEDON, Ont. – One man is dead and another is in hospital following a head-on crash on Highway 9 Tuesday evening.

Provincial police said an eastbound Honda Civic collided with a westbound Land Rover near Duffy’s Lane just after 7 p.m. The man driving the car was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man driving the Land Rover was transported to hospital with life threatening injuries.

The cars were not carrying any passengers.

Provincial police have closed Highway 9 from Regional Road 50 to Humber Station Road in the Caledon area, as officers continue to examine the scene.
