Air Canada to begin flights from Toronto Island airport and Montreal in 2011

MONTREAL – Air Canada has announced that it will flights between the Toronto Island airport and Montreal starting in February 2011.

The airline says it will offer offer up to 15 daily non-stop flights from Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport to Montreal’s Trudeau International Airport.

Air Canada intends to lease five Dash 8 Q400 turboprop aircrafts from Bombardier to travel the route

The planes will be operated by Sky Regional Airlines Inc. on behalf of Air Canada.

The accessibility to the island airport was an issue at the latest mayoral debate.
