Victim identified following fatal stabbing in west end

TORONTO, Ont. – A 21 year old victim following a stabbing in the west end Saturday evening has been identified.

Dori Sanaj, of Toronto, was in an elevator at an apartment building located at 500 Scarlett Road, near Eglinton Ave around 6:30 p.m.

It is reported that the victim became involved in an altercation with an unknown man, which carried on into the parking level corridor.

A passerby discovered the victim a short time later, lying in the parking garage stairwell suffering from two stab wounds to his chest. At the same time, a suspect was seen leaving the front lobby of the building.

The victim was rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said they are looking for a man who is described as black, with a short afro, 5’10″, medium build, wearing all-black clothing including a hoodie and jeans.

An autopsy was conducted on Monday and confirmed he died as a result of stab wounds to the chest.

The crime marks Toronto’s 41st homicide of the year.
