Cyclist hit by object in Scarborough

TORONTO, Ont. – A man is in serious but stable condition in hospital Friday evening, after being struck in the head while cycling hours earlier.

The man, believed to be in his 50’s, was riding his bike along Midland Ave. just north of Eglinton Ave. when witnesses say he was struck by a rock-like object.

The suspect then fled the scene.

Police told 680News he was taken to hospital with head injuries. However, they do not believe they are life-threatening.

There is no word on what led to the incident, or whether it was a robbery or a dispute.
