Mississauga Fire battles large blaze near the QEW and Hurontario

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. – Mississauga fire fighters battled a two alarm blaze near the Queen Elizabeth Way and Hurontario, Thursday.

The fire broke out shortly before 9 p.m., in a home located at 167 Premium Way.

Mississauga Fire Platoon Chief Alan Hills told 680News it took about 45 fire fighters roughly half-an-hour to subdue the blaze.

A passer by first noticed a small fire in front of a home under construction and by the time fire crews arrived at the scene the blaze escalated into a two alarm.

Chief Hills says due to the extent of the fire, there was considerable collapse in all areas of the two story single detached home.

There were no injuries to the public or fire fighters.

The fire is currently being investigated by the Mississauga Fire Inspection Division and Peel Police.
