Man charged in attempted Tim Hortons cake heist

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. – A man has been charged in connection with an attempted cake heist at a local Tim Hortons restaurant.
Police said the suspect was confronted by a Tim Hortons employee late last month, after he tried to leave the location with a dessert which had not been paid for.
The suspect allegedly took a swing at the employee, but missed.
John Andrew Jones, 25, of Peterborough, has been charged with theft and assault.
