Woman dies after crash on Hwy. 427

TORONTO, Ont. – A 22-year-old woman has died after she was ejected from a vehicle involved in a crash on the southbound Highway 427.

Ambulance officials told 680News she was a passenger in a vehicle heading south on the 427 in the collector to express lanes approaching the Queensway.

The Ontario Provincial Police said a Pontiac Sunfire was traveling in the express lanes when it went out of control and traveled across three lanes of traffic and down a grassy embankment.

The vehicle rolled numerous times went airborne over a steel guardrail into the transfer lanes from the collector to express lanes at Dundas Street.

The woman was ejected from the vehicle out window and had no vital signs when paramedics arrived on scene.

She was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The driver, a 27-year-old male, was sent to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash is not yet known.
