Police release composite sketch of person of interest in Markham house fire

TORONTO, Ont. – York Regional Police have released a composite drawing of a person of interest related to a house explosion and fire in Markham in July.

Investigators are hoping it will help them identify the man who police believe may be connected to the fire on morning Dove Drive in the 16th Avenue and 9th Line area just before midnight on July 13.

Witnesses said a man was seen leaving in a car after being pulled from the fire.

It’s believed he suffered some injuries and may have required medical attention.

Police are working with the Ontario Fire Marshal to determine if the fire was the result of a crime but so far because of the extent of the damage, the cause remains unclear.
