G20 Suspects decry police’s interpretation of their bail conditions

TORONTO – Two alleged ringleaders of last month’s G20 protests will wait until Aug. 19 to know if their bail will be revoked.

Alex Hundert and his partner Lea Henderson were released July 19 on $100,000 bail each.

But shortly after their release, the Crown filed an appeal to review the terms of bail.

Outside court, Norris said the Crown’s appeal has nothing to do with any breach of bail conditions, but admitted the conditions are very restrictive.

Hundert and Henderson are decrying what they call the politically motivated nature of charges against them.

Hundert said outside court that Ontario provincial police told his parents they should interpret their son’s bail conditions as forbidding him from talking to the media.
