TORONTO, Ont.  – Police say an 18-month-old boy from North Ajax, Ont., who was pulled from a pond earlier this month has died after being taken off life-support.

The child was found face-down in a pond on a residential property by his mother on July 11.

A heartbeat was re-established and he began to breathe on the way to a local hospital.

He was later transferred to the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.

Police say the child was removed from life-support over the weekend.
