Wesley Snipes set to go to prison

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – A U.S. Federal Appeals Court has upheld the three-year prison sentence dished out to film star Wesley Snipes.

The actor was convicted two years ago of failing to file income tax returns for three years.

He has been on bail while he appealed the conditions.

Snipes attorneys argued that the three year sentence was “unreasonable,” and that he should have been granted a hearing to decide whether his trial should have been held in New York, rather than Florida.

In a 35 page ruling, the three-judge panel concluded that the Florida Federal Court which sentenced the actor “acted well within its considerable discretion”.

It is not known when Snipes will be required to report to prison.
