Playnow.. or not? B.C.’s first legal gambling site still down

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Online card sharks will have to wait a while to legally gamble online in this province. B.C. has become the first jurisdiction in North America to legalize online gambling, but technology doesn’t seem to be keeping up.
Go to www.playnow.com and that’s what you get — a “technical difficulties” message and a promise that the “matter will be corrected shortly.” The first hint of a crash became evident yesterday afternoon only hours after the lotto corporation debuted the legal online gambling site. News1130 listeners tell us they were unable to log in right after the launch.
This has all the hallmarks of a crash triggered by a large demand for the service, but there’s no word from the BCLC on what the problem is or when it will be fixed.
