World Cup not coming to Canada for at least 24 years

TORONTO, Ont. – Canadian soccer fans eagerly awaiting the World Cup to be played on home turf will be waiting for quite some time.
The General Secretary of the Canadian Soccer Association said it is unlikely we will see the men’s World Cup reach Canada before 2034.
The United States expects to host the event in 2018 or 2022, which is one reason for Canada not having a shot at the games for at least another 24 years.
The General Secretary said FIFA does not officially rotate the World Cup from one continent to the next in a logical order, but does tend to spread it around the globe.
