Fire crews end five-alarm blaze in Scarborough

TORONTO, Ont. – Toronto fire crews ended a five-alarm blaze in Scarborough, Ontario just before 8 a.m. Sunday.

Flames broke out just before 6 a.m. in an industrial area on 15 Wallsend Drive near Lawrence Avenue and Coronation Drive.

The property is listed as Henry Company Canada Inc., specialists in roofing, waterproofing and air barriers for the commercial and residential market.

23 trucks responded to the call and more than 100 firefighters helped to extinguish it.

The fire also disrupted GO train services on the Lakeshore East and Lakeshore West lines. They have resumed scheduled departure times. However, east-bound passengers could still experience some delays.

Investigators are now trying to determine the cause, but reports suggest it may be oil-based.
