Thousands take part in the annual Dyke March

TORONTO – Thousands of people took to the streets of Toronto for the annual Dyke March.

The march began at Bloor Street and Church Street and made its way through the streets of downtown.

The march was fronted with “Dykes on Bikes,” a tradition of the event, followed by people waving rainbow flags and cheering to those lining the route.

Organizers anticipated 20,000 people would take part in the march.

On Sunday, millions of people are expected to take part in the Pride Parade, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year.

The parade begins at 2 p.m.
