Widespread power outages in Toronto

TORONTO, Ont. – Poor weather conditions have led to numerous areas in Toronto losing their power Sunday evening.

As of 10:30 p.m., Toronto Hydro reported an area bounded by Jane to the west, Dufferin to the east, Eglinton to the north and St. Clair to the south were experiencing power outages.

Crews were working on the problem, and expect it to be resolved by 12 a.m. Monday.

Other affected roads include the Oakwood and Vaughan area, portions of Kennedy Road in Scarborough, some residential streets in Etobicoke and the Palace Pier condominiums near the Lakeshore.

There is no estimated time for restoration, although hydro said they are continuing to work on the problem.
