School buses stop running, another school closed due to G20

The G20 summit means a lot of school kids in the city who are still in classes next week will have to find another way to get to school next Friday.

Both the Catholic and public school boards have decided to cancel all school bus transportation to all schools in the city next Friday as the summit ramps up.

The boards said it’s strictly a precautionary measure because of the anticipated traffic congestion leading up to the summit and they don’t want students to be stuck on their buses for long periods of time.

A letter has been sent home to parents.

The Toronto District School Board also announced it will be closing the following schools Thursday June 24 and Friday June 25:

-Church Street Junior PS
– Orde Street Junior PS
– Beverly PS
– Ogden Junior PS
– The Waterfront School and Island Public/Naturual Science School
– ALPHA Alternative JS
