Pantalone promises online voting, 311 service expansion if elected mayor

TORONTO – Deputy mayor Joe Pantalone promises to let Torontonians vote from their Blackberrys or home computer in 2014, should be be elected to the top job this fall.

Thestar.com reported that Pantalone’s plan also includes holding committee meetings at night so more residents could attend, expanding the 311 service and increasing the availability of permits online.

Pantalone said there remains a serious disconnect between city hall and citizens, and said that as mayor, he would use technology to reconnect them.
