Man dead after drowning in Professors Lake

BRAMPTON – One man is dead after drowning in the man-made Professors Lake Saturday afternoon.

Peel constable Samantha Nulle told 680News, there were a number of attempts to save the man by onlookers and bystanders, but he could not stay afloat.

Police arrived on the scene in the evening, and the man was pronounced dead.

He has been identified as 22 year old Adriss Cheema of Brampton.

Officials are warning people to be careful near lakes and rivers, and only swim in designated areas.
