2 dead, 5 others in hospital after crashes in Peel and York Regions

TORONTO – Police in both Peel and York Regions are investigating two early morning fatal collisions.

The first happened around 2:30 a.m. near Major Mackenzie and Keele, where a vehicle hit a pedestrian walking along the road.

The car fled the scene but was later found at a nearby car wash and the driver was taken into custody. The victim died from his injuries a short time later.

Around 5:00 a.m. in Mississauga, two vehicles collided near Erin Mills Parkway and Brittania.

One man in his 20s was pronounced dead at the scene, five others were sent to local hospitals, one by air ambulance.

No charges have been laid in either incident.
