Peel cops charge teen following fatal two-car crash near Dixie Outlet Mall

MISSISSAUGA, Ont – A 17 year old male faces charges in connection with a two-car crash, which claimed the lives of an elderly couple and left another person in hospital, Thursday.
Police said the 73 year old man and his 74 year old wife were driving their Volvo just before 4 p.m. in the Dixie Road and Cormack Crescent area, when a sports car crossed into the opposite lanes and struck them.
One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other succumbed to their injuries in hospital.
The 17 year old driver of the sports car was treated in hospital for non-life threatening injuries, and then released into police custody.
He has been charged with two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death.
Dixie Road was closed in both directions, near the Dixie Outlet Mall, as the Major Collision Bureau investigated.
