Expect more gridlock in Toronto during June 26-27 G20 Summit

TORONTO, Ont. – For those who hate gridlock, they might want to avoid the downtown core the end of June when Toronto hosts the G20 Summit.

The Toronto Sun reported there will be less parking and roads will be closed in the days leading up to the event June 26-27 at the Metro Convention Centre.

Three rings of security fencing will also surround the convention centre.

The TTC is warning there will be delays and route changes before and during that weekend.

The subway will be unaffected, but streetcar and bus routes will change.

Traffic along highways 400 and 427 will also be affected as police escort motorcades from Huntsville, Ont., where the G8 is taking place, to Toronto.
