TTC expected to have record year for ridership

The Toronto Transit Commission is expected to have a record year for ridership, leading to an estimated $20 million surplus.

The latest statistics show that more people have been riding the rocket, with officials projecting an all time high of over 470 million people to take transit this year.

The commission told the Toronto Sun that the mild winter and service improvements could be a reason for the increase.

If numbers reach the projected high, money from riders would cancel budget cuts, and add another train along the Bloor-Danforth line.
