Two firefighters injured after four-alarm highrise fire

SCARBOROUGH, Ont. – Two firefighters are being treated in hospital for smoke inhalation following a four alarm blaze in a high rise apartment in Scarborough.

The fire broke out shortly before 10 a.m. at 100 Echo Point near the Bridlewood Mall.

Residents of the building managed to evacuate unharmed.

One witness to the incident said that she could see that the windows on the top floor of the building had all been broken.

As many as 100 firefighters were on scene to help extinguish the blaze.

Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the fire.
