Canada announces National Day of Mourning for Polish airplane tragedy

OTTAWA, Ont. – Canada will hold a National Day of Mourning on Thursday for the tragic weekend plane crash that killed Poland’s president and 95 others.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper says Canadians stand in solidarity with the people of Poland and the Polish-Canadian community as they deal with the loss.

Russian investigators have suggested human error may have been at fault in Saturday’s plane crash in Russia.

Among those killed were President Lech Kaczynski and other Polish leaders.
