Former NHL coach Pat Burns in Florida hospital with cancer complications

Pat Burns has reportedly been discharged from a Florida hospital, according to a Montreal radio station, CKAC, that spoke with the wife of the former Leafs coach.

The 58-year-old had been in hospital since Sunday due to complications from terminal lung and colon cancer.

Burns, who has lost a considerable amount of weight, said in an interview last week he feels a sense of calm at the thought of dying.

Burns lives in Florida and is a regular contributor to a morning sports show on CKAC.

The three-time coach of the year in the NHL turned 58 last Sunday.
