Overnight violence in Toronto sends keeps officers busy

As most of Toronto slept, Toronto police were kept busy on the streets early Friday morning.

In one incident, officers responded to a call concerning the sounds of gunshots in the Kennedy Road and 401 area.

However, upon arrival at 20 Antrim Crescent, no one was there. Later, police found out the victims drove themselves to hospital.

Officers tell 680News that a car arrived at a local hospital around 3:30 a.m., and two of the three men inside had non-life threatening injuries.

Police are still eager to interview those involved.

In another incident, a taxi driver in the 401 and Easton Road area called 911 to report that a passenger pulled a knife on him.

Officers arrived to find the suspect in a nearby park where he had pulled his knife out for a second time – this time, a woman was the victim.

No one was injured, but the knife wielding man is now in police custody.
