TORONTO, Ont. – Toronto Police kicked off a week-long, zero-tolerance bike campaign in the Danforth and Broadview avenues area, Monday.
Cyclists have been asked to wear light-coloured or reflective clothing so they are more visible.
Police will be targeting drivers who cross the path of a cyclist or open their car door without first checking to see that the coast is clear.
So far, Toronto police investigated 54 bicycle collisions.
