An Amber Alert came to a safe end, Monday.
It was issued after two small boys were abducted by their father in Kingston.
The 45-year-old father has been taken into police custody.
Less than two hours after the Amber Alert was issued, York Regional Police surrounded the silver Chrysler Avenger on Highway 7, near Donald Cousins Parkway in Markham.
The two children were found safe.
The alert was issued earlier Monday for the two boys, aged three and five, who were taken at around 9:30 a.m.
Police said the suspect escaped with the boys by threatening to use mace on workers at the Children’s Aid Society.
The OPP had reason to believe the trio was headed west bound to Pearson International Airport to catch a flight out of the province.
