TTC bus driver suspended for allegedly driving while impaired

TORONTO, Ont. – A TTC bus driver has her driver’s license back after a 72-hour suspension for allegedly being drunk on the job.

However, veteran driver Margaret Wilson remains suspended from work without pay pending a TTC investigation.

According to the Toronto Sun, Margaret Wilson’s license was revoked last Friday at 4:30 p.m. after concerned passengers on her bus called 911, claiming she was driving erratically.

The veteran driver was reportedly pulled over by cops in the Danforth Avenue and Dawes Road area and given a breathalyzer.

Police told the Sun Wilson did not blow over the .08 limit, but she did blow between the .05 and .08 range, which was enough to have her license suspended for three days.

Bob Kinnear, the president of the Amalgamated Transit Union, told the Sun “drivers understand that at no time should there be any form of intoxication.”

TTC spokesman Danny Nicholson said he can’t comment on the case, saying it’s a personnel matter.
