Toronto Board of Trade wants city council to speed up TTC audit

TORONTO, Ont. – The Toronto Board of Trade is calling on city council to get the ball rolling on an audit of the Toronto Transit Commission.

The board said many Torontonians are wondering if they’re getting value for money from the TTC.

The board’s head said the TTC’s spending grew by nine per cent in 2010, but its productivity is deteriorating.

In recent months, the TTC has been the target of rider backlash after some high-profile incidents.
