People across the county have been online twittering and facebooking their Olympic pride since the big gold win.
Olympic gold medal winner Alexandre Bilodeau quickly became the top trending topic on Canadian twitter pages.
On the 680News facebook page, some of the comments left by fans include: “Amazing, so proud to be Canadian”, “Three Canadians and one ex-pat in the top five — doesn’t get too much better than that”, and “Thank goodness Bilodeau was more relaxed than i was watching it on TV. You could have cut the tension in my family room with a knife”.
