Two teens killed, another teen injured in crash north of Toronto

Two teens were killed in a horrific high-speed crash in King Township, Monday.

The crash killed a 15-year-old and a 17-year-old and seriously injured another 15-year-old.

Police said the teen driver was speeding north to ski and snowboard when the car flew out of control and wrapped around a tree.

The teens, from Maple, Ont., and the injured passenger, from King City, was airlifted to a Toronto hospital.

The crash has shaken residents in Maple.

A police officer in York Region called the accident the “most horrific crash” he’s seen in 15 years.

Const. Mike Buchanan said the “sheer speed of the vehicle and the way the car wrapped around the tree was remarkable.”

The dead teens’ families have asked police not to release their names.
