Ottawa man to become Peterborough’s 1st homicide of the year, he will be taken off life support

An Ottawa man is expected to become Peterborough’s first homicide of the year when his family takes him off life-support at Toronto’s Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre today.

Forty-one-year-old Stevenson Auguste was struck in the head during a brawl in Thursday’s strip club Thursday morning.
The father of three is a native of Saint Lucia and has been in Canada for about five years.
Auguste’s brother-in-law Shawn Barnes of Kemptville says the family is waiting for Auguste’s mother and daughter to arrive from Saint Lucia today to say goodbye.
Police say just about everyone in the club got involved in the fight.
No word yet on whether charges will be laid.
