The Toronto Transit Commission said it wants to make customer service its top priority.
The TTC has announced a number of improvements, including information screens to be posted at the entrance of all subway stations, so that passengers are warned of any service disruptions before they pay.
An Internet trip planner is also expected to be up and running next week.
Also, streetcar passengers will be able to text to get a GPS update on the estimated arrival time of the next streetcar.
Moreover, ticket collectors will get new microphones so they can be more easily understood.
