Three more pedestrians struck by vehicles since Saturday

Another pedestrian has been hit by a vehicle in Toronto. Just after 6 a.m. Monday, a man in his 40s was struck by a vehicle at Birchmount and Finch.   

Ambulance officials told 680News the man received only minor injuries to his hand.

Meanwhile, two other pedestrians are in hospital are being struck by vehicles over the weekend.

A woman was seriously injured at about 6 p.m. Sunday after she was struck in a crosswalk just east of Pearson International Airport, at Carlingview and Dixon Road.

The unidentified woman is reported to have suffered severe head injuries in the accident.

And early Saturday, a 35-year-old man who police say was talking on his cellphone was hit by a streetcar in the city’s east end, on Queen Street near Broadview.

On Friday, a 57-year-old man on crutches was killed after being hit by a dump truck in the east end.

He was the 12th pedestrian to be struck and killed by a vehicle in the Toronto area this month.

North Etobicoke’s 23 Division launched its annual week-long pedestrian safety awareness week Monday morning.
