Markham man charged in connection to grisly Pickering double murder

A Markham man has been arrested and charged in connection with a double murder in Pickering.

Last May, the bodies of two men were discovered in the trunk of a stolen rental car.

Police said they believe the victims, 28-year-old Harjinder Singh Sandhu and 26-year-old Puneet Singh Chhina, were beaten and shot in Toronto and then driven to the Tauton and Rosebank area of Pickering.

John Le, 38,  has been charged with two counts of:

– First degree murder
– Kidnapping
– Forcible confinement
– Use of firearm in commission of an indictable offence

Le’s next court appearance is slated for Jan. 27.

Detectives added the investigation is ongoing and they expect more arrests.
