Elderly woman charged in connection with pedestrian fatality last week

Toronto police have laid charges in the death of a 28-year-old mother who was struck and killed by a vehicle as she pushed her infant in a stroller.
The victim was crossing the intersection of Martin Grove Rd. and Eglinton Ave. on a green light last Tuesday when she was hit and dragged about 30 feet by a Toyota Camry.
Her 12-week-old son was thrown from the stroller; but, did not sustain any injuries.
Edith Jones, 83, of Toronto has been charged with careless driving and failure to stop at a red light.
Her first court appearance is scheduled for Mar. 11.
