A 20-per cent jump in complaints in 2009 is forcing the TTC to turn to private-sector advice on customer service.
The TTC has voted to set up a blue-ribbon panel and hire a consultant to help workers improve customer service.
City Councillor Denzil Minnan-Wong said they don’t need to wait for the panel’s recommendations. He said customers want cleaner and more reliable service.
He’s also calling for TTC chair Adam Giambrone and TTC chief general manager Gary Webster to resign, blaming them for problems with the St. Clair streetcar right-of-way.
