Another member of Toronto 18 homegrown terror group pleads guilty

Another Toronto 18 member has pleaded guilty to participating in a terrorist training camp.

Amin Durrani’s surprise guilty plea came Wednesday in a Brampton, Ont., court, just two months before the start of his trial.

Four other men still face trial in March, accused of attending a terrorist training camp.

The Toronto 18 group — 18 men and youth arrested in 2006 and charged with terrorism offences — consists of two alleged conspiracies.

Most of those charged in the bomb plot pleaded guilty or had their charges dropped.

Durrani was sentenced to time served plus a day and three years probation, though it’s not clear if he will be released Wednesday or Thursday from Maplehurst detention centre.
