Two men plead not guilty in murder of Jordan Manners

Two young men have pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder in the 2007 fatal shooting of 15-year-old Jordan Manners.

Manners was shot to death inside a Toronto high school on May 23, during school hours.

The men — known as J.J.W and C.P.D. — entered their pleas in a Toronto courtroom during pre-trial motions.

Under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, they can’t be identified because they were under 18 years old when Manners was slain at the time.

Jury selection will start on January 23, and Crown attorney Aaron Del Rizzo said the trial will last at least two months.

Between 25 and 40 witnesses are expected to testify, many of them students whose identities will be protected as minors.
