OSPCA makes two more arrests at the Toronto Humane Society

Two more arrests have been made in the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals investigation into allegations of animal cruelty and mismanagement at the Toronto Humane Society.

Trevor Smith, a former agent with the THS, who made regular appearances on Toronto TV stations promoting animal adoptions is charged with two counts of personating a peace officer and one count of perjury.

The charges relate to allegations Smith acted in as an Ontario SPCA officer in June of last year after he had been suspended.

Mark Beauchamp, an agent with the Ontario SCPA, has been charged with obstruction in connection to allegations he tipped off staff at the Toronto Humane Society ahead of an OSPCA inspection.
