Man charged with second-degree murder in death of Oshawa woman

Police in Durham Region have made an arrest in connection with the death of Tammy Lewis in December.

It was the region’s sixth homicide of 2009.

The body of the 29-year-old woman was found in her home in Oshawa, Ont., on December 28.

Police were led to her body by someone who called 911 from the home and then found a 30-year-old man suffering from serious injuries.

Police initially deemed her death suspicious and later said it was a homicide, but have not released specifics about the death.

Thirty-year-old Shawn Pegg, who lives on the same street as the victim, has been charged with second-degree murder.
