A 143-year-old church has been heavily damaged following an early morning fire in Whitby, Ont., Monday.
Flames tore through the All Saints Anglican Church, near Brock and Dundas Streets, just after 5 a.m.
There were no injuries reports, but the fire destroyed about 90 Christmas hampers put together by the congregation for families in need.
Fire officials told CityNews they found a smashed window and gas canisters scattered nearby when they arrived on the scene.
One witness said the church has recently been the target of vandals.
