Native demonstrators protest for HST exemption

Native demonstrators protested Queen’s Park, early Thursday evening, to try to draw attention to concerns about poverty and the controversial HST.
The Queen’s Park protest followed a walking protest that took place Thursday afternoon, that had demonstrators blocking University Avenue, Dundas Street West, Yonge Street and College Street.
The demonstrators said they were protesting for the right to retain their exemption from the provincial portion of the HST.
According to the group, the protest could escalate across the province and country.
